  • Overview

    This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Warfare Center – Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD The selected candidate for this position will perform cybersecurity analysis across various Data Center environments both on premise and cloud environments. The candidate will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools for a Navy Regional Data Center The candidate will prepare Assessment and Authorization documentation for the development of the Risk Management Framework packages, and coordinate and collaborate the production and processing of those products with the Navy Authorizing Official.

    Responsibilities

    Candidates will perform the following Duties:

    • Establishes standards, practices, and procedures and coordinates with stakeholders to ensure timely assessment and authorization of various business systems through Authority to Operate (ATO) approval in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Ensuring the  ATO is maintained for multiple software configurations.
    • Develop, review, evaluate and implement cybersecurity controls and test plans ensuring adherence to government directives, standards
    • Evaluates releases of IA Vulnerability Alerts and Bulletins as well as other required remediation and ensure that vulnerability mitigation efforts are facilitated across the assigned environments
    • Perform Security Impact Analysis (SIA) research and assess the impacts of system modifications, technological advances, etc
    • Review system security documentation in order to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document security relevant changes

    Candidates will require the following Experience:

    • Knowledge and experience securing DoD systems using the Risk Management Framework.
    • Demonstrated experience to support and maintain security processes, procedures and policies for all platforms, systems and networks.
    • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance scans, the Planned of Action and Milestones (POAM), and the Risk Assessment Report (RAR).
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and drafting project milestones, progress monitoring, quality control, maintenance, or training documentation related to information assurance activities.

    Qualifications

    In order to be successful in this role, qualified candidates will have the following knowledge & skills:

    • Must be a team player and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively as well as be able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative and have an ability to organize daily tasks with minimal supervision
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, various levels of Navy civilian management with assorted levels of cyber security experience
    • Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals, as well as a fast learner with demonstrated ability to quickly learn technology, process and understand unique system requirements
    • Strong initiative, detail orientation, organizational skills, aptitude for analytical thinking.
    • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment across several projects and teams.
    • Data Center DOD RMF Experience is a plus
    • Active Secret Clearance.
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP) or IAM Level II Certification (CAP, CASP CE, GSLC, CISM, CISSP).
