  • Overview

    Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases. Perform recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products. Perform database and software life cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements. Perform Oracle and Application server administration. Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.  The DBA will perform engineering functions for multiple large databases including the data warehouse and development support. The DBA partners with technical and business groups to ensure that database performance standards adhere to enterprise service level agreements.

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree and 11 years experience; or Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years experience; or Master’s Degree and 7 years experience; or combination of 13 years which may include education/specialized training/certifications and/or experience. Relevant education must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).
    • Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.1 IAT II) and at least 1 current Computing Environment certification.
    • Relevant experience includes management of Oracle databases including 11g and 12c, installation and configuration of Windows Server technologies including 2012, UNIX variants, particularly installation and configuration of Red Hat Linux, Network Attached Storage, Microsoft SharePoint technologies, networking principles and components, Oracle knowledge, installing and configuring multi node server side load balancing RAC (Real Application Clusters) databases on Red Hat Linux, ASM on NETAPPS storage, planning, design, implementation, and support of large Oracle database environments including setting up backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, query optimization instances, troubleshooting performance issues, performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, database consistency checks using DBCC utilities, capacity planning, HA options as well as contingency planning, log shipping, always on cluster), etc.
    • Experience with developing and presenting, orally and in writing, technical information to non-technical audiences and clients
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
    • Secret security clearance

     

    Preferred Experience:

    • Top Secret security clearance
    • Oracle certifications
